The Gospel Explained by the Spiritist Doctrine is the third book of the Codification of the Spiritist Doctrine, first published in 1864. Long before the biblical scholarship of today, Spirit teachers through this book detailed the true meaning of many of the gospels' most well known verses in the context of the customs, traditions and atmosphere where these events originally occurred. Clarifying the ethical teachings Jesus and revealing His true intentions with his words and actions, these chapters reinforce the connection between Spiritism and the direct teachings of Jesus, outside of the religious dogmatic meaning given to them later on in human history. The book also explores the even earlier teachings of the Greek philosophers Socrates and Plato, and how these men touched upon theories Jesus would clarify centuries latter. |
